About the place

Quinta Eucalyptus is a renovated 4 bed farmhouse situated in a secluded valley in Monchique, it is also pet friendly so you don’t need to leave anyone behind! This unique villa is the perfect place to relax in lush green surroundings away from the crowds, while still only 10km from Portimao where you can find supermarkets, shopping centres and the popular Praia da Rocha, with its fantastic beach and its lively bars and restaurants. 

Accommodation

The Monchique villa has an open plan lounge, dining and a well equipped kitchen with typical Algarvian high beam ceiling. The large wood burner keeps the villa warm in the fresh Winter months while air conditioning cools down the place in the Summer.

There are two bedrooms downstairs including the master bedroom which has its own TV/DVD and air-conditioning with an adjacent conservatory which can be used as an extra dining area looking over the beautiful valley. 

The other two bedrooms are next to each other and located upstairs where there is an extra cosy TV lounge, they share a downstairs bathroom.

Outside

The villa has a lovely, covered area with a dining table and chairs. There are also several sunny areas with sun loungers, a built in BBQ and a large Jacuzzi which you can use for a small extra fee. From the swimming pool there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and various nice ponds around the property complete with singing frogs!

Surroundings

Casa Eucalyptus is located on the road to Monchique , just past Caldas de Monchique, a fairy-tale village, well known for its springs - worth a visit! The Romans and Moors used the bubbling spring water and it is still in use to this day - the thermal water bubbles up from 33°C and helps against many diseases.

Other must visits while here include the Serra de Monchique and its two main peaks - Foia (900 meters) and the Picote (775 metres). Omega Zoo is also only a 5 minutes drive from the property.

From the villa, Monchique is only a 15 minutes drive to Portimao and 20 minutes to Praia da Rocha, well known for its beautiful beach with spectacular rock formations, bars, restaurants, night life, marina and lots of beach bars. 

If Praia da Rocha is not your style and you prefer quieter beaches, drive a half an hour to the Atlantic West Coast, Aljezur for example is a beautiful white sandy beach, with surfers and an unspoilt nature.
