Walking Portugal
Walking is popular in the Algarve Portugal. The Algarve has fantastic nature, and the best way to discover this is by foot! Walking in Portugal, you find peaceful inland scenery of lemon, orange and almond trees, olive groves and sleepy Portuguese villages. There are natural reserve parks like the Ria Formosa, east of the Algarve or cliff walks along the coastline. The Algarve Portugal has long, stretched beaches for nice beach walks. Every part has different type of nature. You will find a variety of birds and other species. Walking in Portugal and you discover the nature of the Algarve by foot, for sure a different experience!

You can choose to do a walking trip Portugal on your own, discover your own paths, there are many sign posted trails you can follow, like the Via Algarviana, a sign posted trail that goes from East to West Algarve (or vice versa) You can choose to hire an experienced guide to do your walking in Portugal. Guides are trained, and know the area, plus they have knowledge of the nature and environment. You can do a guided tour in a group or hire a private guide. The choice is yours!
Nordic Walking
Combine health, fit and fun with Nordic Walking. Nordic walking uses two specially designed poles which also trains the upper body while walking.
Nordic Walking works the arms, shoulder, chest and back muscles through a full range of motion, stretching and lengthen the muscles.
Nordic walking increases the heart rate without getting tired feeling. You get a better workout without giving you the feeling it needs to make greater efforts. Nordic Walking can be up to 40% more calories and burn fat. A different way for walking in Portugal.
What to bring?
As the Algarve has over 300 days of sun a year, you need to take water with you, a hat, and sunscream, while walking in Portugal. Ofcourse comfortable walking shoes. If you go on your own, bring a map of the area and/or a compass.
When?
The best time of the year for walking in Portugal, is spring and autumn, as it is less hot then July and August, and less chance of rain, as it might happen in the winter months. We do not recmmend to walk in Portugal, during the day in the summer, due to the high temperatures. But you can have nice morning and evening walks in Portugal in the summer!
