Sailing Algarve
Sailing in the Algarve is the best way to enjoy the beautiful coastline of the Algarve, escape life on shore, and become part of the impressive, deep blue Atlantic Ocean Portugal. When you sail in the Algarve, close to the coast you will have a perfect, undisturbed view of impressive rocks, caves, cliffs and beaches. When you sail South, further into the Atlantic Ocean, you have a good change to meet various types of dolphins and even whales.
Wind
The western part of the Algarve, offers excellent wind conditions for sailing in the Algarve. During the summer there's a steady pattern: light wind in the morning, a northwesterly wind of 4-5 knots, during the afternoon. The winds in the Eastern part of the Algarve are generally lighter, but can be effected by strong Easterly winds, originating from the Gibraltar straight.
