About the Villa

My first reaction when I saw the garden of this farmhouse Algarve near Alvor... WOW !!! It never seems to end and it has a massive pool. Quinta Bem Posta near Alvor is a traditional farmhouse Algarve. The farmhouse Algarve itself is quite basic, but it has character, Portuguese style and the outside areas are absolutely stunning. Since you spend most of your time outside thanks to the lovely climate, I think it is an ideal place for a summer holiday in the Algarve!

Farmhouse Algarve - Quinta Bem Posta - is a special oasis hidden away just a couple of kilometers from the beach near Alvor in western Algarve. It is rare to find such a large, private, established plot this close to the beach. The farmhouse Algarve near Alvor is secluded, offering you lots of privacy. However we do recommend you to hire a car.

Accommodation

The farmhouse Algarve has a cosy livingroom with a dining area and fire place. The kitchen is basic but well equipped. Everything you might need is available such as a microwave, oven, toaster and dishwasher. For the children we can provide two cots and a high chair.

The summer-house, about 50 metres from the main house and near the pool, is an ideal place for one or two teenagers to stay. About 20 metres from the main house there is an annex building with bedroom en suite, plus adjacent large game room with darts and table tennis. The game room has a pull out bed plus double bed.

Farmhouse Algarve - main house:
Master bedroom, double bed, en-suite bathroom, shower;
Small bedroom with pull out bed (two single beds), shared bathroom with shower;
Small bedroom with small double bed, shared bathroom with shower.

Farmhouse Algarve - annex:
Double en-suite bedroom with shower;
Adjacent game room with two single beds and double bed. This shares the bathroom of the double en-suite bedroom.

Farmhouse Algarve - summer/garden house:
Bedroom with bunk bed, plus shower, sink and toilet.

Outside

Outside the farmhouse Algarve near Alvor you will find 1.5 hectares of private grounds with lots of fruit trees, gardens and lawns. The whole premises is fenced and therefore very safe for children.

Quita Bem Posta has a very large covered area, with large table, ample chairs and sitting corner with nice pillows. There is a little outdoor kitchen with fridge. The whole place is beautifully covered with Algarvian bougainvillea, which has nice purple flowers during the summer. Close to the covered area you will find a nice built in BBQ with terrace. It is a perfect spot for all fresco dinners during your summer holiday in the Algarve.

Between the main house and the large private pool are nice lawns, paths (lit) and a pond with frogs and lillies. The pool area has an outside shower, loungechairs and tropical umbrellas. Adjacent to the large pool there is a small, shallow pool, ideal for children who need to learn to swim. At the garden side you will find a large, fenced ball court where you can play basket ball, soccer and tennis.

The farmhouse Algarve near Alvor has various terraces where you can either enjoy the sun or relax in the shade. The place is an ideal spot for outdoor living in the Algarve, with its large and well established garden.

Sometimes the winters in the Algarve can be cold and wet. Therefore Quinta Bem Posta near Alvor can only be rent for max 6 persons in the winter, as the main house and kitchen are basic.

Surroundings

Quinta Bem Posta near Alvor is situated close to the picturesque and lively Alvor, between Portimao and Lagos, both nice towns to visit. Alvor Portugal has many nice bars and restaurants, some with live music, and a beautiful lagoon, where you find fishermen coming and going from their trips to the sea. Fresh fish is guarenteed in Alvor! It is only a 5/10 minutes drive to the beach of Alvor, which is a white stretched sandy beach with various beach bars.

Around the corner of the farmhouse Algarve there is a local grocery shop and a bar. About 5/10 minutes by car there is a large shopping centre. Penina, the most famous and oldest golf resort of the Algarve, can be reached within 5 minutes by car. Also close to your farmhouse Algarve is the Aerodrome Algarve, where you can treat yourself to a flight and watch the beautiful Algarve from high up in the sky. Other activities like horse riding, sailing, tennis and outdoor trips like canoeing and mountain biking are all within easy reach. Trips to the mountain range of Monchique will only take you 20 minutes by car.

The owner of Quinta Bem Posta is a master in wine (a connaiseur)! and has good contacts for visiting  a wine farm and do a wine tasting, so if you are interested, please ask them!
