About the place
Casa Faro, Villa Velha, is a restored Algarvian farmhouse with stunning views in the Algarve, Portugal. Originally built in 1900, and completely renovated in 2000, the villa Faro has retained many original features, and, thus, its special character.
Casa Faro, Villa Velha, is located East of Faro, in the hills between Estoi and Moncarapacho, with breathtaking views to the coast and the Ria Formosa Natural Park, Europe's largest natural lagoon and wetland. At night, the dotted lights of the fishing communities contrast dramatically with the brighter concentration of Faro to the west and Olhao to the east.

The Villa Velha sleeps six comfortably in three en-suite bedrooms, one of which is in the attached annex, plus the Casa Velha has a mezzanine to accommodate children or occasional extra guests, which has its own enclosed balcony with the magnificent views. All beds are double beds, one bedroom has air-conditioing and TV.
The living room of the Casa Faro, has air-conditioning and is large with a panoramic window and access to the terrace. This spacious area has sofa's, and an extra lounge area to relax, read a book or simply enjoy the suberb views.
The open dining area comfortably seats eight, and there is a magnificent open fire, with plenty of seating areas. The kitchen of the villa Velha is fully fitted, and accesses the barbeque alongside the terraces of Casa Faro.
Outside
Casa Faro has various terraces, and it is from there the terraces you will experience its uniqueness. The views of the villa Faro are simply stunning, from sunrise, through sunset, and into the night! This leads down to the poolside, with recliners and umbrellas, the private pool, and the lawn beyond. From there you can walk round the palms in a circular raised decking feature, which gives an even wider perspective of the surrounding countryside of the villa Faro.
The garden of casa Velha, is full of native trees such as pomegranate, plum, almond, olive, and the estate the villa Faro (6,000sq.m) also contains alfaroba, oleander, cactus and other natural flora. It rewards an exploration. There are herbs for the kitchen, and mint for the Pimms!
An opportunity to stay at Casa Velha, villa Faro, not to be missed.
Surroundings
Casa Velha, villa Faro, is located between picturesque and old town called Estoi and Moncharapacho, both less then 10 minutes drive away, and worth a visit.
