About the Place

The cottage Casa Falacho is a pretty countryside holiday cottage, close to historic town of Silves. Built in the mid-forties, completely renovated to a nice Portuguese cottage in the countryside, with ample outside terraces and nice views overlooking orange groves, the river Odelouca and a little village called Vale de Lama. A nice holiday cottage Silves. Casa Falacho offers the best of both worlds – holiday cottage Silves away from the hustle and bustle of the popular coastal resorts, but within easy reach of large supermarkets, bars and restaurants in Silves (5 minutes drive), nice beaches like Praia da Rocha (Portimao), Carvoeiro and Armacao de Pera (15 minutes drive) and beautiful golf courses, like Morgados and Silves Golf (both 15 minutes away).

The Accommodation

Casa Falacho Silves has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. You enter the cottage Silves in a long corridor, with on the left two twin bedrooms, at the end is the shared bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and floor heating (winter). On your right in the hall is the open lounge/dining with sat. TV, DVD and stereo/cd player. At the back is the kitchen with micro wave/grill, oven, dishwasher, a small fridge and a 5 ring gas hob. Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room with washing machine and another small fridge. This leads to the partly covered back terrace. The lounge of Casa Falacho has a wood burning stove to keep you cosy and warm in the winter. Everything is ground level and suitable for wheel chairs. An extra bed in one of the 2 bedrooms is possible for an extra guest. Discover the real Algarve, book Casa Falacho! For the children there is a cot and high chair and some children's play materials. The cottage Silves have some bord games and DVD's and boule games.

Outside

Casa Falacho is built on a hill, on 1.3 hectare of private grounds, with nice views over the hills surrounded by orange groves. From your doorstep you can make some pretty and scenic walks through little Portuguese villages and along the river Arade and the river Odelouca. The cottage Silves compromises various terraces; at the back the terrace is partly covered and has nice wooden table and chairs, to enjoy outdoor dining. The front has another terrace with some natural shade by trees, and nice views over the rolling hills towards Monchique. A bit further down you will find a round pool for a refreshing dip! There are some sun lounges to work on your taint!

Surroundings

Although Casa Falacho is situated in the interior of the Algarve, all necessary facilities and highlights are within small distance from the cottage Silves.

The old fairy-like Silves, the former Moorish capital of the Algarve, is only a few kilometres away from the cottage Silves. It’s a pleasant town on a hill with cobbled streets, restaurants, shops and a castle. Messines is a typical Portuguese village with an authentic centre, sunny terraces and charming cafés.

From the cottage Silves towards the beautiful coast of the Algarve is only 15 minutes by car. Here you’ll find lively coastal resorts as well as small fishing villages where you can still experience a Portuguese atmosphere. The coastal area of the Algarve is spectacular with its golden rock formations and attractive sandy beaches.

If you are looking for an active holiday, there are lots of possibilities for snorkelling, diving, sailing, jet skiing, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, tennis and golf. You can also go on a dolphin or jeep safari.
