About the Place

Luxury cottage Algarve, Casa Canine has been rebuilt and  finished and opened its doors in the spring of 2006. Ever since many guests have enjoyed this fantastic luxury cottage in the Algarve!

The cottage Algarve, Casa Canine is named after the name of the valley (sitio Canine) and Canine is the ancient name for elderberry. Casa Canine Silves is an old farmhouse with thick walls, which has been left in their original state. The cottage Algarve is very nice rebuilt in traditional style with modern elements.

With fantastic views of the Castle of Silves, and the beautiful gardens, the cottage Algarve is a unique farmhouse in the Algarve.

Accommodation

The cottage Algarve is furnished and decorated in Morrocan style, the owners have a very good taste, and all is very high standards with keeping the farm house style in mind.

Casa Canine Silves has two large luxury bedrooms with air conditioning and patio doors to the terrace. From your bed you have a view of the castle of Silves. The beautiful doors of the cottage Algarve, leading to the bedrooms are imported from Morocco.
The two luxurious bathrooms of the the cottage Algarve, have floor heating, toilet, shower, double sinks and one bathroom has large bath with whirlpool (Jacuzzi).

The kitchen of the Casa Canine is spacious and luxury, and leads you to the covered terrace and outside kitchen with built in BBQ.

The living room of the cottage Algarve, has satellite TV, DVD player, radio and CD player  plus free ADSL internet connection (bring your own laptop) The living room has a nice sitting area with fireplace, open dining area and two large doors to the terrace. Casa Canine is decorated and furnished in Morroccan style.

Outside

Before you arrive at the cottage Algarve, you first have your own driveway surrounded by beautiful olive trees and is nicely lit at night. The view of the castle of Silves, makes Casa Canine a very special place to stay in the Algarve.

The cottage Algarve has 3 hectares (3 acres) of private grounds, of which a small part of an (organice) orange grove where you can pick your own oranges during the season (December till approx July). Here you find also fig and olive trees.

The gardens and surroundins of Casa Canine Silves are very pretty too. The cottage Algarve has 300 m2 of lush lawns,  and is located  halfway through a lush green hillside. The spacious terrace with nice table and chairs has fantastic panoramic views of the scenic area of Silves, and has a unique view of the castle of Silves in the evening which is magical illuminated.

The cottage Algarve, is set up for outdoor living with nice terraces with soft seating and a built in BBQ terrace, and nice wooden table and chairs.

Casa Canine, cootage Algarve has a nice private pool surrounded by teak furniture, and quality sun lounges.
For the children is a nice play ground (150m2) with trampoline, swings and a large sand pit.

Surroundings

The cottage Algarve is located in the Canine valley, surrounded by the green hills of Silves amid  orange groves. Walking distance to Silves where you can find all needed amenities and only 15 minutes to the famous beaches of the Algarve.

The old fairy-like Silves, the former Moorish capital of the Algarve, is only a few kilometres away from the cottage Algarve. It’s a pleasant town on a hill with cobbled streets, restaurants, shops and a castle.
From Casa Canine Silves towards the beautiful coast of the Algarve is only 15 minutes by car. Here you’ll find lively coastal resorts as well as small fishing villages where you can still experience a Portuguese atmosphere. The coastal area of the Algarve is spectacular with its golden rock formations and attractive sandy beaches.

If you are looking for an active holiday, there are lots of possibilities for snorkeling, diving, sailing, jet skiing, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, tennis and golf. You can also go on a dolphin or jeep safari.
In the area of Silves and the cottage Algarve, you will find beautiful landscapes, lakes, orange groves, wild nature, and well-protected parks.
