Accommodation

Quinta do Coracao, is a basic bed and breakfast Portugal, located in the hinterland of the Algarve.
Rebuilt with natural materials of river stones, canes and wood designed in the original Portuguese style. The environmental friendly materials of the constructions blend into the landscape and gives the impression of being 'at one with nature'

The bed and breakfast Portugal has 3 cool comfortable rooms, a self contained cottage and a self catering studio.
Quinta do Coracao has two bed and breakfast rooms with double, large beds, and one room with a single bed. All have their own bathroom, with shower, toilet and sink.
The cottage of the bed and breakfast Portugal, is an independent little house, with upstairs a double, large bed, with balcony, looking over the unspoilt green valley of Quinta do Coracao.
Downstairs you find a kitchenette with fridge, coffee machine, toaster and a 2 ring electric hob, bathroom with shower, WC and sink. The living area has  dining table and chairs, an open fire place plus an extra bed for third guest.

The studio of Quinta do Coracao, has a double bed, kitchenette with fridge, coffee machine, toaster and 4 ring gas hob, bathroom with shower, WC and sink.

Another bed and breakfast room you find a bit further down, and has a double bed, with its own open fire place. If guest want they can use the outside kitchen next to this romantic room.

There is a inside common area with fire place, where you can read, play games, and meet other guests of the bed and breakfast Portugal.

Outside

Quinta do Coracao, located in the mountains Serra do Calderao, close to Salir, north of Loule Portugal. The bed and breakfast Portugal, is a very idyllic hideaway, and used to be a little mountain village on its own. The pavement is cobbled stones, the whole look is natural, and rural. There is a common, covered terrace, looking over the green, hilly valley and has table and chairs, BBQ and a bar area. Enjoy some sun at the adjacent common pool area of the bed and breakfast Portugal.  A few little ponds with plants and frogs you find near the terrace of the bed and breakfast Portugal. Read a book in one of the hammocks in the shade of the Eucalyptus trees.

Stone steps takes you up to the terrace, with breathtaking views over the surrounded mountains of Quinta do Coracao. Here you find some nice seatings, now you can experience the feeling to be away from it all.....enjoy the million upon million stars...as there is no light polution.

The hosts of the bed and breakfast Portugal, offer a luxury breakfast, and on request they serve meals in the evenings for a nice price. The Quinta do Coracao bar is open to every one.

Surroundings

The bed and breakfast Algarve located a 10 minutes drive from Salir, an unspoilt town dotted with white houses and narrow streets, situated to the north of Faro in Central Algarve. The village is fairy-like and lies in the mountains of Serra do Calderao, just north of Loule. It has a good local supermarket for your daily supplies, and many nice bars and restaurants where locals sit down for a beer or 'medronho' (local spirit). Many restaurants offer a good lunch including drinks, coffee and dessert for only 7 Euros! There are some festivals throughout the year of which the Festival do Pina in June and the medieval festival in September  are very popular.

Walking
From the bed and breakfast Portugal, you can make great walks through the unspoilt mountains. You will find deserted villages, nice birds, and other wild life, plus beautiful flowers, plants and trees. The hosts will give you directions and tips, plus they have some friendly dogs, who are very happy to join you on the walk, and will guide you!
Many people visit the area of Salir because of climbing the Rocha da Pena,  a short drive from the bed and breakfast Portugal, a rocky massif that covers over 600 hectares reaching its highest point at 479 metres. The craggy landscape features a limestone cornice reaching 50 metres high. It is topped by a plateau some two kilometres in length. The natural beauty of the region results in a rich and varied flora, made up of over 390 species of plants – endemic, medicinal and aromatic – and the characteristic geographical formations of the Barrocal region of the Algarve. Highlights include a striking species of wild rose, yarrow, wild orchids and different types of scented rosemary. So put on your walking boots and climb the Rocha Pena Algarve!

Loule
From the bed and breakfast Portugal it is only a 20 minutes drive to the town of Loule, a beautiful city with a nice pedestrian area. The town has cobbled, windy streets with shops, bars and restaurants and a large daily fruit and vegetable market. There is also a large supermarket which is open 7 days a week till 10pm. There are many yearly festivals to attend, like Carnival in February, the International Music Festival in June, and a Jazz festival in July. Beach
The beach is a little further down, about 20-30 minutes by car from the bed and breakfast Portugal. Along the coast you can find nice sandy beaches and renowned golf courses. In the area of Salir you can easily organize horse riding or mountain bike trips. And, as mentioned above, the surroundings of the bed and breakfast Portugal,  are a paradise for those who love walking in the Algarve.
