Casa Antiga sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms and is situated at the very foot of the medieval castle, in the town of Salir. Salir is an unspoilt town dotted with white houses and narrow streets, situated to the north of Faro in central Algarve, around 30 minutes from the beach. The house is owned by a Portuguese architect and she has restored this 19th century house into a unique holiday home, the atmosphere is calming and there are many fascinating original details.
Outside you will find a small private walled garden with shaded dining area, a built in charcoal BBQ and a private, heated (optional), swimming pool with built in Jacuzzi.

As soon as you enter the house you will be overwhelmed by the attention to detail of the restoration. A classic mixture of 19th century simplicity and modern comforts.
This 400 sq metre house is split over two floors and has 4 bedrooms (two double and two twin) and 4 bathrooms (one en suite). There are also 3 lounge areas, two dining rooms and a farmhouse style kitchen.
The restoration work includes wooden floors, ceilings and windows and has areas of exposed rock walls and many original features dating back to 1871. There is also a games room overlooking the garden with a pool table and a telescope. There is a satellite TV, DVD, CD player and radio, plus, wood burning stoves, heaters and fans throughout.

Provisional booking can be made by Email.
A contract will be sent by return, by Email.
Within 7 days of provisional booking, a deposit of 50% of the total agreed price and the signed contract should be returned to us.
The remaining 50% must be paid no later than 6 weeks prior to the arrival date.
You will then receive a booking confirmation.
Bookings made less than 6 weeks from arrival must be paid in full at the time of booking.
A damage deposit of 250 Euro must be paid on arrival, refundable on departure.
Guests can access the property from 16.00 hours on day of arrival and must vacate the property by 10.00 on day of departure.

What else you get

On arrival, all of our guests receive a welcome refreshment pack, consisting of a selection of cold drinks, some snacks and some fresh fruit of the season.
We will explain how to get to local shops, bars restaurants, supermarkets and beaches.
For the use of guests, each villa has various maps of the area, some guide books and some tourist information that you will find useful.
Some have a board games, outdoor games, and a library of paperback books.
All have radios and CD players, most have TV´s, satellite systems and DVD players.
We are happy to assist with any car hire, mountain-bike hire, at home catering and babysitting arrangements you may need.

Car Hire

As you know by now, this house is in a semi rural location. In our opinion, this makes a hire car or mini-bus essential.
We would also reccomend hiring viechles fitted with air conditioning for periods between June and September.

We can take care of all of the arrangements, choose from the various options, email us your requirements, we will provide you with a fixed quote, and your car will be ready for collection at Faro airport on your arrival. You simply drop the car back at the airport when you return.
